Puppy Familiarisation Sessions
If your new companion will need to be professionally groomed, it is advisable to let them attend a puppy familiarisation session whilst they are still very young. I would suggest a good age is around 3 months, as by this time your puppy would have completed his vaccinations and should recognise his name and some basic commands.
Introducing your puppy to the grooming experience at an early age will familiarise them with handling and help in the development of their social skills. It will also give them the opportunity to get to know me and to become accustomed to the grooming enviroment and the noise of the dryer, as they will be introduced to every experience at a gentle pace and reassured throughout.
Dogs who have been introduced to the grooming regime as puppies will be confident, well-behaved and relaxed whilst they are being groomed as they mature and as adults, and their grooming sessions will become something they look forward to and enjoy!
My aim to is to make my puppy familiarisation sessions a pampering and fun experience for your puppy and the session will last for approximatley 1 hour.
During the session they will be gently bathed, dried and brushed out and have their ears cleaned. They will also be given a puppy health check.
If your puppy is particularly nervous on their first visit, a second familiarisation session can be booked prior to them attending for a full groom booked at a later date.
